SIC Scholarship application packets are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, February 28th.
A Navy recruiter will be here on Tuesday, February 20th to speak to the Senior Class during advisory period and will have a table set up outside the cafeteria during lunch.

GoingMerry Scholarships – Goingmerry.com has several different scholarships that students can apply for. Each month the scholarships change.
Student Scholarships.org – This website offers several different scholarships. The scholarships change from month to month.
Early Childhood Education – John A. Logan College is offering a program in Early Childhood Education. There is a shortage of workers for child care centers in southern Illinois and for public schools. John A. Logan will pay for your schooling. That’s how desperate they are for workers. Information is available in the Guidance Office.
Displaced Energy Worker Dependent Transition Scholarship Program – The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has launched the Displaced Energy Worker Dependent Transition Scholarship Program. The scholarship pays tuition and fee costs at public colleges or community colleges for one calendar year. Scholarship applications are available on the Illinois Student Assistance Commission website.
St. Louis Area Mensa Scholarship – Students planning to earn a degree in a mental health related field are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Eligible majors include, but are not limited to psychology, counseling, social work and psychiatric nursing. The scholarship is for $1,000. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The application, essay and transcript must be received by March 18, 2024.
Harrisburg Kiwanis Club Scholarship – The Harrisburg Kiwanis Club will offer two $500 scholarships to Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) to a graduating Senior at Harrisburg High School. Applicants must be a member of Key Club in good standing. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications must be completed and returned to Mr. McKinstry in the Guidance Office by April 1, 2024.
Marion Memorial Health Foundation Scholarship – This scholarship is for students interested in a health career. Marion Memorial Health Foundation will be giving $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. All information has to be turned in to
Mr. McKinstry by February 29, 2024.
Gallatin-Saline Retired Teachers Association Scholarship This year a $500 college scholarship will be awarded to a student from Gallatin or Saline County who plans to become a teacher. Qualifications and the application are available in the Guidance Office. See Mr.McKinstry for applications. Applications for the scholarship must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2024.
SIU Credit Union Scholarship – SIU Credit Union will be offering ten $1,000 scholarships for 2024. All applications for the 2024 Scholarship Program must be submitted no later than Friday, March 29, 2024. Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2024. To obtain a scholarship application, visit www.siucu.org/scholarship or stop by a local SIU Credit Union branch. More information is available in the Guidance Office.
2024 Illinois DCFS Scholarship Program – The DCFS Scholarship Program is available to youth who have an open DCFS case, whose cases were closed through adoption or guardianship or who aged out of care at 18 or older. Youth who are at least 16 years old on March 31 may apply. Through the program, a minimum of 53 academic scholarships will be awarded to current and former youth in care for the upcoming school year. For more information see Mr. McKinstry in the Guidance Office. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2024.
2024 Sons of the American Legion Bill Henshaw Scholarship. The Harrisburg Sons of the American Legion is offering scholarships to students planning to pursue an undergraduate degree or vocational skill. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, April 8, 2024.
Hagan Scholarship – The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship. There are several requirements. One requirement is that students have to have a 3.5 GPA or higher. There are 5 other requirements. For more information see Mr. McKinstry in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is March 1, 2024.
Bill Salus Memorial Scholarship Knights of Columbus-Harrisburg Scholarship – The Harrisburg Knights of Columbus is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior. You have to be ranked in the top third of his/her class and be a practicing Catholic at St. Mary Harrisburg, St. Mary’s Eldorado, St. Joseph Elizabethtown or St.Paul’s Vienna. Application deadline is Tuesday, February 29, 2024.
Peoples National Bank Scholarship – Peoples National Bank is offering several $500 scholarships to students in the southern Illinois area. Student or one or both parents/guardians of student must be a customer or employee of Peoples National Bank. Applications are due by March 1, 2024.
Legence Bank Academic Scholarship – Legence Bank will be awarding five scholarships to high school seniors in southern Illinois. The value of each scholarship is $500. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. All applications will be reviewed, and candidates will be selected by April 5, 2024. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 22, 2024.
SICEA Scholarship – One scholarship will be awarded for $500. The recipient must be in the upper half of their graduating class and plan to complete a program while at SIC. There are several other requirements. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. All application materials must be returned by April 1, 2024.
Rotary International District 6510 Foundation 2024 Scholarship – The Rotary International District 6510 Scholarship will fund two scholarships to an accredited College or Trade School to two high school seniors residing in Rotary District 6510. Awards will be $2500.00 each. Students have to have been/be involved in community involvement and volunteerism. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Materials must be received by March 1, 2024.
Rotary International District 6510 Gregory F. Yank “Servant Leader” Scholarship – Gregory Yank believed in community service. Students have to be involved in community service. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Completed applications have to be received by April 1, 2024.
Harrisburg Elks Military Family Scholarship – One senior from Harrisburg High School will receive a $750.00 Scholarship. A graduating senior must have a relative (parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt/uncle) currently serving in the military or who is a veteran and honorably discharged from the military. There are other criteria required. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2024.
Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship – This scholarship is for students planning to study a business-related field at a public university in Illinois. Preference will be given to those attending the University of Illinois. The value of the scholarship is $500. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. All material must be received by March 10, 2024.
Egyptian Public & Mental Health Scholarship – This scholarship is for seniors planning a career in Human Service/Health Care Services. One senior in Saline, White and Gallatin County will receive a $1,000 scholarship. For more information and applications see Mr. McKinstry in the Guidance Office. Deadline to apply is April 12th.
