Students planning to go to college should complete their FAFSA as soon as possible if they have not already done so.  

 

*The Accuplacer Test is required for students who want to take SIC classes while still in high school.

 

*Friday, March 25th – Accuplacer Test will be given.   Sign up in the Guidance Office.

 

*The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 8th at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will be in the new gym.

 

*Seniors can turn in SIC scholarship packets to me, Mr. McKinstry by Friday, March 4th

Going Merry Scholarships – Goingmerry.com has several different scholarships that students can apply for.  Each month the scholarships change.

 

Golden Apple Scholarship – Students interested in teaching can apply for this scholarship.  Information is available in the Guidance Office.

 

StudentScholarships.org – This website has several different scholarships that students can apply for.

 

Illinois Chemical Education Foundation – This scholarship is for students interested in becoming a High School Chemistry Teacher, Chemist, Chemical Engineer or Environmental Engineer.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications have to be postmarked by March 5, 2022.

 

Arthur K. and Sylvia S. Lee Scholarship Foundation The Arthur K. and Sylvia S. Lee Scholarship Foundation hopes to leave a legacy of its funds to your community to honor Mr. and Mrs. Lee and to support your community where United Cities Gas Company and later Atmos Energy benefited and built strong relationships.  The Foundation proposes to provide education grants to worthy students to assist their attendance at local community colleges.

 

SIU Credit Union Scholarship – SIU Credit Union is pleased to announce that they are offering five $1,000 scholarships.  To obtain a scholarship application go to www.siucu.org/scholarship or stop by a local SIU Credit Union branch.

 

Gallatin-Saline Retired Teachers Association Scholarship – A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student from Gallatin or Saline County who plans to become a teacher.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2022.

 

American Society for Quality Scholarship – The American Society for Quality (ASQ) Evansville-Owensboro Section 0915 is offering a $500 scholarship to a high school senior graduating from a high school in their section area.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be scanned and emailed by March 31, 2022.

 

PB & J Scholarship- This scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, who still have the drive to succeed.  Use this link to apply.  https://scholarsapp.com/scholarship/pbj-scholarship.  Deadline to apply is May 31, 2022.

 

Psi Chapter – Delta Kappa Gamma International Honor Society for Women Educators Scholarship –

This scholarship is for a female in the upper half of her class who plans to become a teacher.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications and all materials have to be returned by March 10, 2022. 

 

2022 Sons of the American Legion Bill Henshaw Scholarship Program – The scholarship will be granted to assist the applicants of Harrisburg in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree or vocational skill.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be postmarked by Monday, April 11, 2022.

 

Harrisburg Kiwanis Club 2022 Scholarship – The Harrisburg Kiwanis Club will offer a scholarship(s) to Southeastern Illinois College to a graduating senior (boy or girl) at Harrisburg High School.  The maximum total amount of scholarships offered will be $750.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be completed and returned to the HHS Guidance Counselor by March 31, 2022.

 

Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship – This scholarship is for students planning to pursue higher education in the office professional, secretarial, or business-related fields.  Applications must be postmarked by Monday, March14, 2022. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

 

“No Sweat” Scholarship – It is called “No Sweat” because there is no minimum G.P.A. or Essay required.  Information is available in the Guidance Office.

 

Saline County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship The student must plan to enroll full-time at SIC.  The student must have a 2.5 G.P.A. or better. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  All information is due by April 1st.

 

Knights of Columbus-Harrisburg Scholarship – Students have to be Catholic and rank in the top third of their class.  Applications are due by Thursday, March 4th.

 

Rotary International District 6510 Foundation 2022 Scholarship – Two high school seniors residing in Rotary District 6510 will receive a $2,500 scholarship.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications have to be received by April 1st

 

Rotary “Servant Leader” Scholarship – There are several requirements.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications have to be received by May 1, 2022.
