Starting October 1 st students can complete their FAFSA.
Students planning to go to college should complete their
FAFSA as soon as possible.
The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be
held in the Auxiliary Gym on Monday, November 7 th at
5:30 p.m.
Financial Aid Night / FAFSA help – On Thursday, October
20 th during Parent/Teacher Conferences a financial aid
expert from SIC will be available in the computer lab of
the Media Center to help parents and students complete
the students FAFSA. Parents or students can bring their
tax returns from 2021 and receive help. Students must
have their social security number to complete their
FAFSA.
College Visits
SEMO rep will be here Monday, November 7 th at 11:40
a.m. Sign up in the Guidance Office
Scholarships
GoingMerry Scholarships – Goingmerry.com has several
different scholarships that students can apply for. Each
month the scholarships change.
Heisman High School Scholarship – Students that play a
sport and have good grades can apply for this
scholarship. Information is available in the Guidance
Office.
Mensa Scholarship – The Saint Louis Area Mensa is
offering one $1,000 scholarship for a student who will be
majoring in mental health in college. Applications are
available in the Guidance Office.
Golden Apple Scholars Program - Students interested in
becoming teachers in the state of Illinois may be
interested in this program. Information is available in the
Guidance Office.
National Honor Society Scholarship – Seniors that are
members of the National Honor Society can apply for this
scholarship. Information is available in the Guidance
Office.
Coca-Cola Scholarship – Students that have a 3.00 GPA
can apply to win a Coca-Cola Scholarship. Information is
available in the Guidance Office. Deadline to apply is
October 31, 2022.
The (CBAI) Community Bankers Association of Illinois is
offering their annual association scholarship.
Information is available in the Guidance Office. Deadline
to apply is February 24, 2023.
Illinois Chemical Education Foundation Scholarships
Students that are interested in becoming a Chemist,
Chemical Engineer or a High School Chemistry Teacher
should apply for this scholarship. Information is available
in the Guidance Office. Deadline to apply is Friday,
March 3, 2023.
Hagan Scholarship – The Hagan Scholarship is a
nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing
recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-
free. The scholarship is worth up to $6,000 each
semester. Information is available in the Guidance
Office. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2022.
Illinois State Historical Society Scholarship – The ISHS is
offering this prestigious award of $1,000 for the best
1,500-word essay written by an Illinois high school
student on the subject of Abraham Lincoln or the Civil
War era in Illinois. Essays must be submitted by January
15, 2023. More information is available in the Guidance
Office.
