Harrisburg Unit #3 and BELA Pre-K are excited to announce the addition of a playground communication board. BELA Speech Language Pathologist, Mrs. Emma McGowan and Special Education Coordinator, Kim Williams, worked with Looking Glass Enterprises to create a means of accessible communication for all students. The purpose of the communication board is to encourage social interaction, facilitate language development, and promote inclusion during outdoor play. This adaptive addition to our playground is a form of AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) which helps assist children who are emerging communicators and/or communicators that need to supplement their verbal language with pictures.
This addition is a part of the Harrisburg Unit #3 School Strategic Plan Priority 3: Providing supports for students in and out of the classroom that allow for seamless transitions within and beyond Harrisburg Community Unit School District #3. #BulldogNation

Harrisburg Football will host their annual Junior High Football Camp on June 6th and 7th. The first day of camp, June 6th, will be from 8-10 am. The second day of camp, June 7th, will be from 10 am-12 pm. Registration is June 6th from 7:15-8 am. The camp will cost $30, which includes a camp shirt. The entry fee for the IHSA Baseball Regional on May 15th at 4:30 pm, May 16th at 4:30 pm, and May 18th at 11:00 am at Harrisburg (Jay Thompson Field) is $5 for everyone, no passes accepted. Harrisburg Unit # 3 Staff, employees and students will have to pay the $5 entry fee for entry. Gates do not open till 1 hour prior to game time.
