HHS Weekly Happenings: Week of 12/16
On the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 11th, Harrisburg Police, Carrier Mills Police, Saline County Deputies, and School Safety Officers participated in a school training exercise to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and visitors remains paramount. This type of training is ongoing and will ensure that our schools will remain as safe as possible.

Key Club rings the bell for the Salvation!
Mrs. Arnold at Harrisburg High School was the recipient of the $250.00 Illinois Pork Producers Association Food Service Grant. This money was used to purchase pork products to cook in the Food Science Lab. This grant was a great opportunity to teach the Advanced Food Science classes (3 classes taught by Mrs. Eliza Arnold, and one class taught by Mrs. Catrina Butler) about the Illinois Pork Producers, the pork industry, and how to properly cook pork. The classes used the grant to purchase pork burgers, pork chops, hot dogs to create Crescent Mummy Dogs at Halloween, and ham at Thanksgiving. We would like to thank the Illinois Pork Producers for this great opportunity!!

Congratulations to Harrisburg High School on earning the Illinois Student Assistance Commission Recognition of Excellence for achieving over 65% FAFSA completion for the 2023-2024 school year. We are appreciative of Ms. Lane and all her hard work assisting students and their families with the completion process!
