Spirit Week Reminder for Tuesday 10/27:

Reminder of next week's spirit week themes at West Side:

Reminder: Picture Day for West Side is TOMORROW (Thursday, 10/22)! In-person students will have their pictures taken in the morning. Remote students can come in the afternoon between 1:00PM and 2:30PM. These will be the pictures for our yearbook! There will be a make-up date later for anyone who cannot come on this day.
We ask that you and your child wear a mask and come to the door by the gym (Door #5). Someone will be at the door to take temperatures of all who come in the building.
If you would like to order pictures and you do not have an order form, we will have extras in the office.

Spirit Week October 26th-30th:

West Side parents/guardians of remote learners returning to in-person instruction on Monday, October 19th:

Kindergarten pick-up will be at 11:25 for Woolard, Butler, Reynolds, and S. Johnson or 11:35 for Dixon, Napier, Hardy, and Taylor (McKinley St.), 1st grade pick-up will be at 11:45 (Lincoln St.) and 2nd grade pick-up will be at 11:55 (Ledford St.). Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!

Thank you to Mr. Gauch and Mrs. Fry for their help with Mrs. Butler’s science experiment this afternoon.

Reminder as we are ending the first quarter:

So proud of our PreK team for being creative with their family engagement tonight !!

Parents/Guardians: We will be conducting additional trainings and professional development for our staff to become better acquainted with our new curriculum and online platforms to make it a better experience for everyone. This will occur every Wednesday afternoon until Christmas break and will not affect our in-person instruction. During this time, our staff will be in trainings and will not be holding zoom/Google meetings. If you need additional assistance during this time, please call the office or send a message to your student's teacher via email or their social media platform and they will get back to you as soon as they can. The teacher will still post instructional materials for your child to utilize. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Witges or Mrs. Wilson at the office. Thank you.

Information on the GoGuardian parent resource for students using school-issued electronic devices:

Parents/Guardians: We also want to say "thank you" for your patience and cooperation with the pick-up process. We feel the new process has made us a much safer school and helped with the traffic congestion of years past. We plan on continuing the new pick-up process for years to come. We may make minor adjustments as needed but we have been very happy with it so far and hope you are as well. Mr. Witges and Mrs. Wilson

Parents/Guardians: We have had a wonderful week back at WS. It was great to have the students back in school. Today, we had a fire drill with the fire department and it went great. The students were tremendous. Remember, school will not be in session from Oct. 8th-12th. We can't wait to see the students back on Tuesday, Oct. 13th. Have a great weekend WS ! !
