The HHS fall musical, Tuck Everlasting, is this weekend at SIC. Tickets are still available for all shows. They will be on sale at the door 1 house before each show. This show has a beautiful story filled with amazing dancing and music. We would love for you to attend!

Pre-K and Grade School students who have already signed up for the HHS cheer clinic will meet at East Side tomorrow at 3 p.m. Enter at the Church street fence entrance to check in. Practice will be over at 4:30. Dress warm for practice, we will be on the playground.

Good afternoon, due to a police incident near West Side school, some students may be delayed in getting picked up or riding the bus and getting home today. All students are safe and accounted for. West Side school is on temporary lockdown until the matter is resolved. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Due to parent teacher conferences at the high school, Thursday youth basketball for grades 4th, 5th & 6th will be moved to tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19th at the high school auxiliary gym. Wednesday youth basketball for grades 2nd & 3rd will meet as regular tomorrow October 19th at the high school auxiliary gym as well.

Please come and join us tonight at the Parents and Caregivers empowered family event hosted by Egyptian Health from 4-6 o’clock at Mahoney Park in Eldorado. All are welcome. There will be food, drinks, games, music, and information from organizations. There is a drop off kid zone so parents can let the kids play. Also, any middle or high schooler that volunteers will receive a good citizen scholarship raffle ticket for coming out and additional tickets for every Halloween costume donated at tonight’s event. Harrisburg Unit 3 Schools will be dismissing at 1:30 tomorrow, Thursday, October 6th. As a reminder there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 7th due to a Teachers Institute. Also, there is NO SCHOOL October 10th-14th for Fall Break.
We encourage you all to go to Centralia Thursday and Support the Middle School Harrisburg Bulldog Baseball Team compete for the SIJHSAA State Championship. The Game is at 3 p.m. at 501 Walnut Hill Rd. Centralia, Illinois.

The HMS Baseball team will be playing DuQuoin in the state semi-final game at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 4 in Centralia. Absences for HMS students who are signed out and attend the game will be excused. Dorrisville Baptist Church will take a fan bus to the game and it will leave the church at 12:00 pm. We want to thank them for taking the fan bus but it is not affiliated with Harrisburg CUSD#3. Therefore, parents will be required to sign their child out and take them to the church to meet the bus. We will not provide transportation to the church and students may only be signed out by a parent/guardian or someone on their emergency contact list.

Parents and Students: Illinois law requires all schools to install active threat safety protocols and conduct safety drills within the first 90 days of school. Harrisburg Unit #3 will begin instruction and conduct the drills during the month of September. It will not be uncommon to see Emergency Responders at any of The Harrisburg Schools as they assist us with the drills. New law also allows students to “Opt Out” of actively participating in the Active Shooter drill, however those who do have to participate in other similar video training. Parents who want to authorize their child to opt out must request and sign a waiver that can be picked up at any Harrisburg School office.
