This Week at HMS 10/20
Congratulations to the HMS Boys and Girls Basketball teams on their wins today at the ZE Shootout in Galatia! A special shoutout to 8th graders Jaxon Mott and Saylor Pilcher for being named MVPs!
Congratulations to the students who received a positive behavior referral from an HMS staff member this week. Way to go!
HMS Parents/Guardians, this is a reminder that we have parent/teacher conferences tonight from 3:30 - 6:30 pm in the HMS gym. Midterm reports and IAR test results from last year will be available for you to pick up. There will be a few teachers with coaching responsibilities or prior commitments with their children who will not be available this evening. You will be able to sign up to receive a call or email from those teachers. We hope to see you here tonight.
HMS will wear red tomorrow, Oct. 16, to show our support for Emi Belford. She suffered cardiac arrest at a junior high basketball game. She is a student at Galatia. Our thoughts are with her and her family.
The 8th grade class will be selling popcorn and sodas on Fridays starting this week and ending on November 14.
8th grade parents: Please donate sodas for the 8th grade fundraiser. Information is attached.
HMS students will go to Taylor Field tomorrow morning for their House Competition. Students should wear their House t-shirts. 6th grade and new students as well as any 7th/8th student who purchased a House t-shirt will receive one tomorrow morning. Students must wear tennis shoes to participate. It will be chilly in the morning but sunny so dress accordingly. Students may wear hats and sunglasses and they may bring sunscreen. Water will be provided. Students will return to HMS at 11:45 for lunch and the remainder of the competition.
HMS cheerleading, boys basketball, and Newsies musical practice are canceled for today due to the HHS cross country meet taking place at HMS. Girls basketball has moved their practice to the HHS auxiliary gym from 3:30-5:00 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience.

HMS students are having a great time at the Neon Dance. Parents, this is a reminder that it ends in 20 minutes at 7:00. See you then!
The HMS Neon Dance is tonight from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. HMS students only. Admission is $5.
Concessions are available. Students who are on the social suspension list or who were absent today are not allowed to attend tonight. The school dress code applies. No glow sticks are allowed as they can damage the gym floor.
