Congratulations to Rhys Hathaway on breaking the 7th Grade 100M Dash school record with a time of 11.69, surpassing the previous record of 11.8 set by Corbin Crim in 2012!

The HMS boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed yesterday at Metropolis Country Club. The girls remained undefeated, finishing 1st, led by Ava Harbison (44), with Leah Phelps (52), Adalyn Harbison (56), Sylvi Burroughs (59), and Talley Barger (66). The boys tied for 2nd (144) as Sam Davis shot a 38, followed by Kree Morris (50), Jackson Mathis (56), Grayson Wilson (61), and Easton Sumner (61). Way to go!

The HMS boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed yesterday in the St. Mary’s Invitational at West Berwick Golf Course in Mt. Carmel. The boys were led by Sam Davis with a 44 (9th place), followed by Kree Morris (52), Grayson Wilson (52), and Jackson Mathis (55) for a team score of 148. The girls earned a 1st place finish with a team score of 136, placing four golfers in the top 10: Ava Harbison (1st, 39), Leah Phelps (3rd, 46), Adalyn Harbison (4th, 50), and Sylvi Burroughs (7th, 54). Great work by both teams as they continue their strong start to the season!

Rappers vs. Nappers Dance at HMS. Thursday, April 9th, 5:30-7:00. The dress code applies. Please pick your student up promptly at the end of the dance. Concessions available. Admission is $5.

Reminder: There is an 11:30 dismissal today, Friday, March 27.

Eligible HMS students will celebrate the end of IAR testing this afternoon with some indoor and outdoor activities. Students who choose outdoor activities should dress appropriately for the weather (sunny and 87 degrees) while following the school dress code. Hats may be worn outside and students may bring sunscreen. Don't forget to send money for the concessions (sodas, chips and candy).

HMS Parents/Guardians: This is a reminder that Dental Safari will be at HMS on Monday, April 6. Please return your Dental Safari forms to the school nurse by Thursday, March 26 if you want your child to be seen by them. Thank you!

HMS track practice will be held today from 3:30-4:30 pm at Taylor Field.

HMS Students: Wear your craziest (or mismatched) socks on Friday, March 20, to spread awareness for World Down Syndrome Day!

HMS Track tryouts scheduled for tomorrow have been canceled due to low temperatures. Tryouts will now be held Wednesday, March 18 from 3:30–5:00 pm at Taylor Field.
