Spring Showcase
The 2025 season is officially off and running, and what a great evening of golf at Shawnee Hills Country Club it was! Playing in their first match of the year, Harrisburg Middle School hosted Hardin County, Herrin, and Buncombe. The boys finished in third place and the girls in first! Sam Davis was top dog, firing a 47. On the girls’ side it was Millie Rumsey and Leah Phelps both carding 59s to lead the Bulldogs to victory. Millie and Leah were one stroke away from earning match medalist honors. Prior to the match, the dogs were gifted new Callaway gloves and balls from Kevin Hefner. Mr Hefner has been a longtime supporter of HHS and HMS golf. Boosters like him are the backbone of our program. We could not do it without them! Thank you again, Kevin, for all you do for us! As always, thank you to Shawnee Hills Country Club for allowing us to play. The course is beautiful, and in great shape! Genny Craig-McClusky, Ron Ozment, and staff are great hosts. Bulldog Golf is lucky to have them! Next up for the boys is a trip to Morganfield Kentucky on Wednesday. The girls will be back in action again next week. 2025 Team Members Caroline Woolard Tindall Atkins Ava Harbison Leah Phelps Jade Adams Millie Rumsey Sylvi Burroughs Kree Morris Alabama Lane Sam Davis Cooper Stalcup Jarret Jones Will Biggs Ian Lehman Camden Cummins

Priority 3. Student Support Outside the Classroom. Today, some of our 8th grade students had the incredible opportunity to witness history at SIU, where the Illinois Supreme Court held hearings in southern Illinois for the first time since 2008 (first time ever at SIU). Students interested in law, law enforcement, or government observed oral arguments in both a criminal and civil case - real world decisions that will shape future rulings. This unique experience gave them a front-row seat to the judicial branch at the highest level! #HMSBulldogs #FutureLeaders #LearningBeyondTheClassroom
