7th Grade Parents/Guardians, the 7th grade students will be walking to the Dairy Queen on Wednesday, May 31 after lunch. Students will choose from a list of options and it will be paid for by funds raised by the 7th grade. Students may bring their own money to purchase additional items. 8th Grade Parents, we will take the 8th graders to Davenport Gym at HHS tomorrow at 9:00 am to practice for their promotion ceremony. This practice is mandatory for all students who intend to participate in the promotion ceremony. Practice will end at 10:30 and students will be dismissed for the day from HHS and will not return to HMS. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up at the high school. Please wait outside of Davenport gym for them to be dismissed. Students within walking distance may walk home with your permission. The Promotion Ceremony is tomorrow evening at 5:30 at Davenport Gym. Students need to be in the cafeteria no later than 4:45 pm to line up. This is an informal ceremony. Students will wear their class t-shirts with school appropriate jeans, pants, shorts or skirts. Students who have not yet received their shirts will receive them tomorrow morning at the practice. Tomorrow is Fun Day at HMS. Students will be outside most of the day participating in various activities. They should wear comfortable and school appropriate clothes and shoes that will allow them to participate. They will need to wear or bring socks to play on the inflatables. Students may wear hats and bring money for concessions. We will have sodas and water for $1 - $2 and ice cream for $2. Students will also have access to water inside the school. We will have sunscreen available for those who request it.

Activities Awards Day for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students is tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. at HMS. Students who participated in athletics, Special Olympics, and other activities will receive certificates. HMS parents, if you purchased chaperone ticket(s) for Holiday World, they must be picked up in the office by tomorrow at 3:00 pm. Students may pick up your ticket(s) but the ticket(s) cannot be replaced if lost. Tickets will not be passed out on Friday morning as teachers will have several things to do regarding attendance and preparing students for the trip. Parents of 8th grade students who ordered a chaperone ticket for Holiday World should pick up their ticket(s) in the office Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from 8:00-3:30. The HMS Spring Showcase is Thursday, April 27 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. The HMS band will play from 4:00 - 4:30 and student work will be on display. There will also be an art show and science fair. Additionally, the book fair will be open. If you don't have time for dinner, plan to eat at the 8th Grade fundraiser - 2 pieces of pizza, dessert and a drink for $5. Due to the Spring Showcase, we will not have afternoon tutoring on Thursday.

Congratulations to our HMS Special Olympics athletes! They did an awesome job today at the Special Olympics. We will post more pictures and their awards soon. HMS students will begin IAR/ISA testing tomorrow, Monday, March 20. Please ensure they charge their chromebooks each night and are ready for testing in the morning. They will also need to bring a pencil. Remind them to get plenty of sleep this week and breakfast either at home or at school. Students will be provided with small snacks for each testing session and we will also have a concession available for students to purchase additional snacks.
