The regional track meet is on Monday, May 10 at 10:00. All track team members will be bussed to Taylor Field at 9:00.
All track team members need to bring their Chromebooks to school for their first hour class and will leave them in their classrooms. NO CHROMEBOOKS WILL BE TAKEN TO THE TRACK MEET.
Lunch will be provided for the track team. There will also be a concession stand available.
It looks like it is going to be sunny and about 61 on Monday. Please bring your track hoodie and wear sweat pants since it will be in the 40s when students leave for the meet.
Once students complete their last event, they can be picked up at Taylor Field. Students will not go back to the middle school. Students MUST CHECK IN with one of the HMS track coaches (M. Questelle, J. Questelle, K. McGowan, G. Angelly) before leaving.

All HMS students (in person and remote) will take their last iReady diagnostic math test tomorrow morning. Remote students need to be at the school at 8:00 am in the morning for testing. Please do not come in if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID or you do not feel well. Students who are quarantined or unable to come in for testing must log in to iReady at 8:15 and take your diagnostic test. The scores on these tests are used along with your grades to determine your math and literature/language arts placement for next year. Contact the office if you have questions.
The HMS track meet scheduled for today at Marion has been canceled. Also, there is no practice today. The track meet scheduled for tomorrow at home is still on. All track team members need to be at the field at 1:15 tomorrow.

HMS Diagnostic Tests and Tutoring:
HMS students will take their last iReady diagnostic tests of the year on Friday, April 30 at 8:15 (reading) and Friday, May 7 at 8:15 (math). This is for all students - in person and remote. Remote students should report to HMS on those days at 8:00 a.m. and they can be picked up at 10:00 a.m. They will need to wear a mask and bring their Chromebooks and a pencil. These tests, along with their grades, will help determine their math and reading placement for next year. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Also, a reminder that tomorrow is the last day for afternoon tutoring at HMS.

6th and 7th Grade Parents: The 6th and 7th graders will begin puberty education during PE/Life Skills class. This will occur on Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27. The education will consist of a video presentation followed by a discussion and answer period. Students will receive a note today with more information and I have attached a copy of it below. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in puberty education, please sign the note and return it to your child's teacher on or before Friday, April 23. You may also email it to me at dmcgowan@harrisburg3.org. If you give your permission for your child to participate, you do not need to send the note back. 8th Grade Parents: The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be on May 18 at 5:00 pm at Taylor Field. Students will need to arrive no later than 4:15 pm to line up. Students will practice for the Promotion Ceremony at 9:00 am on May 18 at Taylor Field. All 8th grade students need to be present at practice to receive their graduation t-shirt, a mask and 6 tickets for family to attend the ceremony. Students will be required to wear their graduation t-shirt and provided mask for the ceremony. Read the attached letter for more information. There is also a letter from the 8th grade parents regarding the party following the promotion ceremony. Contact the HMS office if you have questions.

HMS parents: This is a reminder that middle school students are not allowed to attend the high school football games without a parent or guardian present and they must sit with the parent or guardian during the game. Any student who shows up at the game without a parent or guardian will be sent home.
