This is a reminder that we have a 1:30 dismissal today due to the homecoming parade. Students who are picked up at HMS will be dismissed at 1:25 and bus riders will be dismissed at 1:30.
HMS Fall Picture Day is Tuesday, September 23. Mark your calendar! The dress code applies. Due to the green screen background, please avoid wearing green on picture day.
HMS Spirit Week starts tomorrow with Moody Monday (AKA Pajama Day)! Dress up and show your school spirit all week long - you might even get your picture taken for the yearbook!

As the first home football game is tomorrow night, Harrisburg High School has asked us to make our yearly reminder to all parents/guardians that middle school students must be accompanied by an adult when attending high school athletic events.
The HMS baseball and softball games scheduled for tonight at Herrin have been canceled due to excessive heat. We are working on rescheduling those games and will provide more information once a new date is set. Tomorrow's home baseball and softball games with Benton will start at 6:00 pm.
Reminder: Soccer tryouts are tomorrow at HMS.
HMS cross country will begin practicing on Monday, August 18. Practice is from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at HMS Monday through Friday except on days where there are meets. To participate, athletes must have a current physical on file as well as a signed insurance packet. Coach Herren will have the forms at practice if students didn't get them during signups.

Baseball and softball pictures are scheduled for August 25. Individual pictures will be taken at the school starting at approximately 1:00. The team pictures will be taken at the fields after school.
Congratulations to Alicyn Dowdy on winning her 100th game as the head softball coach at HMS!

Soccer tryout information!
There will be an HMS Baseball parent meeting on Tuesday, August 5th at 6:00 pm in the commons area at HMS.
HMS softball open fields are canceled for today, July 29, due to the heat. Reminder: Baseball and softball tryouts are Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1. Any student trying out must have an updated physical and a signed insurance packet.
